Chemiluminescent and fluorescent imaging is used broadly for the study of proteins and DNA/RNA. Conventional imagers for imaging DNA gels cannot be used for detecting chemiluminescent signals due to their limited sensitivity. In order to detect chemiluminescent signals, CCD cameras must be cooled to a low temperature to reduce "Hot Spots". Cool ImagerTM - a chemiluminescent & fluorescent imaging workstation, developed by Viagene Biotech - is a compact, single integrated unit with state-of-the-art computer, microelectronics and semiconductor technology. It provides the capacity for rapid, high sensitivity capture of chemiluminescent and fluorescent images, which can be analyzed through pre-installed sophisticated “Cool Imaging" software. The combination of the Cool Imager’s high-integration and the deep-cooled CCD camera with focus-stabilized optics makes it possibly to achieve much better levels of sensitivity, dynamic range, linearity and resolution compared to other much more expensive imagers on the market. With Cool ImagerTM, all images are digital and one can completely eliminate the use of x-ray films and film developers for chemiluminescent imaging.

1. Chemiluminescence Substrate (CAT#: CHHL100, CHCL01L & CHBL01L)
VViagene carries a variety of chemiluminescence Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) substrates with different sensitivities for use in different types of experiments. These substrate products are suitable for chemiluminescent imaging of Western blotting analysis, Northern or Southern hybridization, and non-radioactive Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assay (EMSA). They are all identified with the trademark of Lightgen™.

2. Lightgen™HL (Cat#: CHHL100, -050, -020)
LLightgen™ HL is a chemiluminescence substrate with extremely high sensitivity for detecting Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) on nitrocellulose, PVDF, or nylon membranes, suitable for use with digital imagers. It is used for Western blotting, Northern/Southern hybridization & Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assay (EMSA). Lightgen™ HL can detect femtogram quantities of HRP. When used with X-ray films, even extremely weak signals can be detected, and a surprise result not previously detected may be obtained. For Western blotting, the amounts of investigators’ samples and antibodies used in the reactions may be reduced by 1/3 to 1/5 to obtain best results and save money on these reagents. When used for hybridization or EMSA, Lightgen™ HL provides much higher sensitivity than that obtained using radioisotope-labeled materials.

Lightgen™ CL is a chemiluminescence substrate of Horseradish Peroxidase with medium sensitivity, suitable to be used for Western blotting, DNA/RNA hybridization and non-radioactive EMSA using detection by X-ray exposure. The reaction of Lightgen™ CL & HRP emits a blue light, which lasts for several hours. Lightgen™ CL is easy to use by combining equal amounts of Solution A and B. It has high sensitivity and can detect nanogram quantities of HRP on nitrocellulose, PVDF or nylon membrane.
Lightgen™ BL is a chemiluminescence substrate of Horseradish Peroxidase, optimized for liquid-based detections, such as chemiluminescent ELISA. It has high sensitivity and duration, and wide linear range of sample concentration, good for quantitative detection, and very suitable for immunoassays.
